“The decision of whether I am fit for the Indian team lies…” Kedar Jadhav On Making Comeback To The India Team

Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has made it clear that he is not dwelling on the prospect of making a comeback to the Indian team. Instead, he concentrates solely on his current cricket commitments and enjoys every moment on the field. Jadhav, who last represented India in February 2020, wants to embrace the game and relish every tournament he participates in.

As a batting all-rounder, Kedar Jadhav has played 73 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 9 T20Is for India. Despite his absence from international cricket since early 2020, the right-handed batsman has not officially retired. In the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), he joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore midway through the season, displaying his cricketing skills in the domestic league.

During an interview with Hindustan Times, Jadhav was asked about his expectations of returning to the Indian team, considering his impressive performances in first-class cricket. In response, the former Chennai Super Kings player expressed his belief in not setting high expectations, often leading to disappointment.

Jadhav emphasized his current approach of enjoying the game and focusing on consistent performances. He believes that if he can relish every day on the cricket field and score runs consistently, the desired results will naturally follow. He understands that it is the selectors’ responsibility to decide his fate and whether he is fit enough to represent the national team again.

“For me, it’s about performing every day and in every tournament I am part of. It’s about enjoying my game. The results will speak for themselves if I can do that and maintain a consistent performance. The decision of whether I am fit for the Indian team lies solely in the hands of the selectors, and it’s not something I can control,” stated Jadhav.

By focusing on his current cricketing commitments and taking pleasure in the sport he loves, Kedar Jadhav aims to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.

While fans may yearn for his return to the national team, Jadhav remains focused on the present, honing his skills and contributing to the success of his respective teams. With his dedication and positive outlook, it remains to be seen if his performances will catch the selectors’ attention and pave the way for a possible comeback in the future.
