The Cost of a Drop: How Ravi Bishnoi’s Missed Catch Affected LSG’s Result Kl Rahul shares his viewpoint

LSG’s skipper, Kl Rahul, blamed Ravi Bishnoi for dropping the catch as the main reason behind the team’s loss against the Delhi Capitals.

In his post-match presentation, Kl Rahul believes that Rishabh Pant and Jake Fraser-Mcgurk took the game away from their grasp.

Kl Rahul said, “We walked in with the same kind of mindset, assessed what the good areas were, what pace worked on this wicket, and executed as well as we could.” We got Warner and a couple after the powerplay. We were in the game till the 10th over, then a drop catch, and then Rishabh-McGurk took it away from us. We fought till the end. McGurk, the new guy when they came in, was very unknown. We’ve watched a lot of videos of him, but he hit the ball really well. Credit to him.”

Kl Rahul further mentioned that his side was 15-20 runs short. He even praised Kuldeep Yadav for his match-winning effort as he picked up three wickets to rattle LSG’s middle order.

Kl Rahul said, “We were 15–20 short; we should’ve capitalized to get 180. There was a bit of help for seamers; odd-ball was keeping low, and Kuldeep put the brakes on our batting group.”
Kl Rahul further added, “In hindsight, I can wonder if we could’ve done something differently [with Pooran’s batting position]. There is not much spin for Axar, so I thought Nicky P (Nicholas Pooran), with the shots he has, could put the opposition under pressure. We knew they had to bowl their spinners in that phase.”

Kl Rahul also gave an update regarding Mayank Yadav’s injury; he couldn’t play this match because of the swelling in his hip region.

Kl Rahul said, “Mayank is not too bad; he looks good and is feeling good, but we also want to make sure we don’t rush him back in too early. He’s young; we need to protect his body. He’s itching to go; we just have to pull him back a little, maybe a couple of more games, before he comes back.”
