Team India Will Travel To Pakistan For Asia Cup 2023 Or Not? Jay Shah Gives An Clear Update

The year 2023 is full of major cricketing events and the Asia Cup is one of them. Asia cup 2022 was organized in UAE but the 2023 one is set to be hosted by Pakistan.

However, the biggest question is if team India will go to Pakistan to take part in the Asia Cup or not. As we know the Indian cricket team has not been traveling to Pakistan for many years due to the rise in political conflict. Now BCCI secretary Jay Shah has dropped a huge update on whether the Indian side will fly to Pakistan to take part in the Asia Cup. Team India last toured to Pakistan in 2006 and Jay Shah has said that the tournament will be held at a neutral venue. The decision was taken in the 91st Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on Tuesday (18 October). Jay Shah who is not only the secretary of BCCI but also the president of ACC, said,”Neutral venue for the Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan.”

According to a press release that came earlier, Pakistan is set to host major tournaments, the first one is Asia Cup 2022 and the second one is the ICC Champions Trophy 2023.
