There is no doubt that the BCCI is the most powerful cricket board in the cricket world. The way BCCI is managing all the cricketing events and flourishing its network in the other sectors of the game is really commendable.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), which monitors global cricketing events, is also behind the BCCI when it comes to revenue generation.
The major jump from where BCCI started overtaking world cricket is IPL which was first played in 2008. If we look at the balance sheet of BCCI for the past 3 years then it would give proximity about the money earned by the Indian Cricket board in the last 3 years.
In 2019, the BCCI had 3648 crores in its bank account. From there on, BCCI started a smart way of marketing and telecasting matches. They worked in the advertisement sector and broadcasting rights. After 3 years, the BCCI has roped in more than 9 thousand crores in their account, which means a certain jump of 6 thousand crores in the last 3 years.
Currently, BCCI has almost 9629 crores in its bank account. The major revenue of the BCCI comes from the broadcasting rights of the Indian Premier League.
