Sydney cricket ground is the next venture of Team India where they will go against Netherlands for their second match of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup.
Now a piece of news is coming out according to which Indian players are not happy with the kind of food served to them. The players of team India informed that they have been provided ‘cold food and sandwiches’ after returning from the practice session in Sydney. After having a cracking contest against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rohit Sharma’s side went to Sydney for the match against Netherlands and they were not happy with the food in terms of food. Talking to the ANI, a BCCI source said, “The food that was offered to Team India was not good. They were just given sandwiches and they have also told ICC that food provided after a practice session in Sydney was cold and not good.” The source close to the BCCI informed that after returning from the nets the players were served cold sandwiches along with some fruits and falafel.
The BCCI source further added, “It’s not like any boycott… Some players did pick up fruits and falafel but everyone wanted to have lunch and hence they had food going back to the hotel.”
It is noted that all the meals in this are being provided by ICC, unlike any bilateral series where the host country looks after all the flooding and other logistics.
“The problem is that the ICC isn’t providing any hot food after lunch. In a bilateral series, the host association is in charge of catering and they always provide hot Indian meals after a training session. But for ICC, the rule is the same for all countries,” the official further said
