Suryakumar Yadav Becomes World’s No. 1 T20I Batter

Indian star batter Surya Kumar Yadav pipped up Mohammad Rizwan to become the ICC No.1 T20I batter. Currently, his performance in the T20 World Cup is overwhelming, and he is standing at the top with 863 points.

Pakistani top-order batter Mohammad Rizwan is standing at the 2nd spot with 842 points, whereas New Zealand’s opener batter Devon Conway is at 3rd position in the list with 792 points to his name. Star batter Virat Kohli is the second Indian in the list of the top 10.

All the top three players are playing in the ongoing world cup, but the performance of the Indian batter is way better than both the top players. His shot selection on the ground makes bowlers think out of the box. He has scored 164 runs in 4 games with the help of two fifties. Today playing against Bangladesh, he scored 30 off 16 balls with a blazing strike rate of 187.50.

Indian team won the match by 5 runs (DLS) against Bangladesh and moved strongly toward the semi-finals. Now India will play their last group match against Zimbabwe on 6th Nov.

New Zealand former cricketer Ross Taylor believes that Surya Kumar Yadav can have even more of an impact when he moves higher in India’s batting line-up.

“I’m sure over time he will start batting up the order or batting where he wants to, but for a guy batting at four, I still think that’s an amazing effort. I don’t know how he does it. He comes in, sums up the situation well, runs well between the wickets, and has a lot of confidence. He intimidates bowlers once he starts getting himself in because it feels like he can hit the ball anywhere at the moment.” said Ross Taylor
