Suresh Raina Deleted All The Controversial Statement After A Call From Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi replied to Suresh Raina, who teased him about his frequent retirements during his cricket career. During an IPL 2024 match, Raina was asked if he wanted to return from retirement to play again for Chennai Super Kings.

The famous cricketer made it clear that he was Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi. Pakistani fans didn’t like his comment. A journalist in Pakistan tagged Suresh to let him know about Afridi becoming the ICC Brand Ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. However, the former CSK batter smartly replied to him.

Raina responded, “I am not an ICC ambassador, but I have the 2011 World Cup at my home. Remember the game at Mohali? I hope it brings some unfortunate memories for you.”

Afridi saw Raina’s statement, and he reached out to him. After their conversation, the tweet was deleted. Afridi spoke about his close relationship with the Indian cricketer and said that he is the younger brother to him.

“I have shared many cricket moments with Suresh Raina. He is a good person,” Afridi said.

“The lighthearted banter happens. After seeing the post on social media. I spoke with Raina, and he understood the situation like a younger brother. He agreed to delete the tweet. It is all good. Great individuals rectify their mistakes,” he added.

Afridi retired from international cricket multiple times but kept coming back to play for his country. Not to forget, Shahid Afridi, Yuvraj Singh, and Chris Gayle have been also picked as the brand Ambassadors of IPL 2024.
