Shreyas Ruled Out Of IPL 2023? Check Out The Full Details

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin on 31st March. But before the start of the Indian Premier League, the Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a major setback. India’s stalwart batter Shreyas Iyer may miss the first half of IPL 2023 due to a back injury. He is the skipper of the KKR team, and it will be a major setback for the KKR as they will not only lose their captain but will also miss their best middle-order batter of Indian conditions.

Shreyas Iyer was injured during the Border-Gavaskar Test series. He suffered a back injury, so he could not come out to bat in the last Test. Now the news is coming that he is ruled out from the upcoming ODI series against Australia.

A recent report has come out regarding his fitness, in which it has been learned that Iyer has developed pain in his lower back, and it may take 3-4 months for his condition to recover. In such a situation, it is difficult for this middle-order batsman to play in the 16th season of the IPL.

According to a report of PTI, a source has informed that Shreyas Iyer is definitely out of IPL till the end of April.

After the 4th test match, when captain Rohit was questioned about Iyer’s fitness, he said that ‘Shreyas Iyer is not looking good right now as his injury is looking serious.’

“What happened to him is unfortunate. He had to wait through the day to bat, and then when the day’s play was over, his back problem flared up again. He was sent to the hospital for a scan. I do not know the exact report of the scan, but it seems that he is not in good condition. That’s why he’s not here.” Rohit Sharma said while interacting with the media after the test match.
