India won the crucial thriller encounter against Bangladesh by 5 runs (DLS Method) on 2nd Nov at Oval in the T20 World Cup. The way Bangladeshi opener players started chasing a total of 185 runs, the men in blue almost lost their hope of winning the game. But the game was marred by the rain in the 7th over, and when the game resumed, opponents started losing the wickets at the regular interval, and Rohit & Co. won the clash on the last ball.
Earlier, the Indian team was invited to bat, opener KL Rahul smashed a blistering fifty in just 32 balls, and run-machine Virat Kohli once again scored 64 off 44 deliveries and maintained his dazzling performance in this T20 World Cup. With the help of this knock, Kohli became the leading run scorer in T20 World cup history. He surpassed former Sri Lankan batter Mahela Jayawardene. However, after India won the game, former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar praised team India’s performance but stated that their bowling attack have been exposed. Akhtar also applauded Virat’s performance in the world cup and said this world cup had been organized for him only. “This T20 World Cup is all about Virat Kohli. Today also, he made 64 runs, and India made 184. If God wills it, then it happens. He was down for three years and now he is the top scorer of this T20 World Cup. The World Cup is being played for him only. I’m sure of this now. I’m sure he will continue his stellar run of form and score even more runs in the coming days for India. I think India played well and deserved to win today,” said Akhtar.
Speaking on the match of Pakistan against South Africa, he said it will be a tough clash for Green Army and it is not easy for Babar Azam & Co.
“They could’ve jeopardized the match, but they did not do that. India has done well. Pakistan was praying for India to lose the game somehow. Pakistan’s match against South Africa will be a tough one. It’s going to be one hell of a game. It’s not going to be easy for Pakistan,” Akhtar added.
