India and CSK’s former skipper, Ms. Dhoni, turned the clock back in time as the right-hander batsman was seen at his absolute best against the Delhi Capitals in Vizag. Ms. Dhoni scored 37* out of just 16 deliveries, which included 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.
However, after the completion of the match, former Australian pacer Brett Lee requested CSK allow Dhoni to bat up in the order. Brett Lee believes that Ms. Dhoni has the sharpest brain, and if he comes to bat up the order, it could be more beneficial for his team.
In his interaction with Jio cenima, Brett Lee said, “He was on tonight; he was not rusty. I do want more from him in terms of batting. Get yourself up to order. He is outstanding, and his brain is still nice and sharp. Please get MS Dhoni up the order.”
Speaking of the same, Former CSK opener Shane Watson believes that this is the best Mahi that he has seen in recent years. Watson said that the shots that Dhoni hit through covers, he has not seen him hitting those in his international career either.
Watson said, “With MS Dhoni in this type of form, this is exactly what you want from him. His power and the skill he has under pressure when the bowlers are really scrambling to execute, his ability to win a game out of nowhere, we have seen so many times through his career. Some of his shots he played tonight—that’s as good a shot I have ever seen him play. The one over cover is one of the harder shots to play, but he is still doing it.”
Watson further added, “The aura that he brings to the game is something so special.”
