The ODI World Cup 2023 is going to commence on October 5 where the defending champion England will take on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Currently, all the teams are giving the final touch to their preparation for the upcoming 50-over game.

Meanwhile, the former Australian all-rounder and one of the legends of the game Shane Watson has picked his two teams that could play in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Watson feels that the tournament happening in India will see an epic India vs. Australia final. He said that Australia is known for raising the bar of their game in the big tournament.

The 42-year-old also praised the Indian team, particularly their strong top-order batting and the outstanding form of their bowlers. With the advantage of playing at home and a formidable lineup, especially in the top order, Watson expressed his belief that India possesses the potential to go all the way in the tournament.

While talking to Star Sport on their special show “Mission World Cup”, Shane Watson said, “Definitely going to back Australia with the caliber of players they have. They have got a few question marks going into this World Cup, for sure, they certainly know how to step up in these big games.” He further added, “And India, being at home, they’d know the conditions better than anyone, their bowlers are obviously on fire at the moment. So, India with their firepower, especially with their top order in particular, certainly can go all the way. So, for me, Australia and India would be an incredible final.”
