Shaheen Afridi Will Miss England, New-Zealand Series Due To Knee Injury

Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been facing a knee injury for long time. He got injured in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2022 while taking the catch of Harry Brooks in the 12th Over and thus he was not able to bowl the 16th over in the all-important match.

Cricket experts took that moment as the turning point of the match because of which England won the T20 World Cup 2022.

Now, Afridi is likely to miss the upcoming series against England and New Zealand that will be played between December 2022 to January 2023. His right knee is injured and PCB confirmed the news and said it would take time to properly fit.

Previously, Shaheen Shah Afridi had missed the Asia Cup 2022 due to a severe knee injury and went to London in a rehabilitation center for treatment.

He directly joined the Pakistani Team in the T20 World Cup in Australia just before the practice match.
Haris Rauf, the right-arm pacer will likely to get the place in the team as Afridi’s replacement. His performance was very impressive in the T20 World Cup tournament, and if he gets a place in squad, then it will be his first red-ball tournament.
