“Set example and…”Ahmed Shehzad’s brutal criticism of Gary Kirsten on leaked team talk

One of the former batsman Ahmed Shehzad wants the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take strong measures against the players involved in their disappointing T20 World Cup performance. Pakistan didn’t make it to the Super 8 round after losing to India and the USA, who were playing in their first World Cup. Although Pakistan won their last two matches against Canada and Ireland, both the fans and experts criticized the team’s strategy.

Pakistan’s head coach, Gary Kirsten, criticized the team as well, stating there is “no unity” among the players and that he has “never encountered such a situation” during his extensive coaching career.

“Pakistan’s team isn’t really a team. They don’t work together or support each other; everyone is on their own. I’ve seen many teams, but this one is different,” Kirsten explained, according to a report from a senior journalist.

Geosuper.tv 4 reported that Kirsten was unhappy with the players’ fitness. He also mentioned that the team’s skills are not as good as other teams around the world.

“If what Gary Kirsten said is correct, it’s really not surprising. We’ve been talking about this during the whole World Cup. It’s time for people to take responsibility, because this team has a lot of problems. The only solution is to take strong action. The players who did wrong should be disciplined, and we need to show a good example to future cricket players. The head of the PCB really needs to pay attention to this,” Shehzad posted on X.

A few days ago, Shehzad asked the PCB to remove some older players, like captain Babar Azam, famous fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, and the player who keeps wickets and bats, Mohammad Rizwan.

Shehzad said that these players have had enough time to do well and get better, but they haven’t shown any progress.
