The 17th season of the IPL is less than a week’s away, as Chennai Super Kings are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 in Chennai.
However, ahead of the upcoming IPL season, Team India’s and Rajasthan Royals young wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel gave a big verdict on Sanju Samson’s leadership skills.
Dhruv Jurel, who has done a phenomenal job in the recently concluded series between India and England, was exceptional with both bat and wicketkeeping. Dhruv Jurel will look to continue his form in the upcoming IPL season.
In his interaction with News 24 Dhruv Jurel spoke about both Sanju Samson and Rohit Sharma’s captaincy style. Jurel said, “It’s been three years since I’ve been playing under Sanju Samson. He’s quite a chill character. He is just like Rohit Sharma when it comes to personality. He talks frequently about strategies; he gives you a sense of security.”
Rohit’s bonding with India’s young players was seen in the recently concluded series between India and England. Dhurv Jurel said that Samson also has very great camaraderie with both senior and junior players.
Dhruv said, “II was on the bench the first year, but he didn’t make me feel that. Samson brings everyone together. Even now, he shares plans not just off the field but off it too. He shares his experience.”

Jurel was also asked about being called the next Ms. Dhoni of Indian cricket, to which the young wicketkeeper replied that there will be only one Ms. Dhoni. Jurel recently made his international debut for Team India and was phenomenal in his debut series, scoring 190 runs in four outings.
