“Sanju Samson is good enough to play, but BCCI….”: Former Cricketer Lashed Out BCCI On Overlooking Samson

The limited-over series against New Zealand has ended, and now the main squad of the men in blue is back on their duty and is ready for the next assignment on Bangladeshi soil.

Looking at the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit Sharma & co. Left for Bangladesh to play three ODIs match series and two test match series against the host, and the first ODI encounter will start on Sunday, 4th December 2022.

The first three ODIs match will be played at Dhaka, and the regular skipper Rohit Sharma, run-machine Virat, and opener batter Shikhar Dhawan is back on the squad. Still, the young star wicketkeeper has again been overlooked by the selectors in the ODIs series.

Sanju Samson is getting support from the world cricket fraternity. Earlier, he was selected for New Zealand and featured only in one match out of six games (four were washed by rain). After his omission from the ODIs series, former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull supported the wicketkeeper batter Sanju and suggested that he could get into the squad in place of Rajat Patidar.

“I mean, I know they loved Rajat Patidar, and I think, okay, that’s fine, but there are a plethora of batters that you know. Sanju Samson is good enough to play, and they are leaving him out. Why are they taking Rajat Patidar?” Doull asked.

Rajat Patidar is yet to make his debut in the India national team. Earlier, he earned his maiden call for the national team during the South Africa series just ahead of T20 World Cup 2022.
