SA vs IND: KL Rahul Knock Brings India To A Decent Stature, Day 1 Ended At 208/8

The first match of the Test series between India and South Africa is being played at SuperSport Park, Centurion. On the first day, when India’s score was 208 runs with 8 wickets lost in 59 overs, rain interrupted play, and the match had to be stopped for Day One.

When the umpires announced the conclusion of the first day’s game, KL Rahul stood at 70 runs off 105 balls, and Mohammed Siraj at 0 runs off 10 balls. The match started late due to rain. In the first Test match, South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and chose to field first.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli played a 38-run innings off 64 balls with five boundaries. Shreyas Iyer contributed with 31 runs off 50 balls which includes 3 fours and a six. The partnership between Virat and Shreyas gave 68 runs to India. Shardul Thakur played a quickfire inning and scored 24 runs off 33 balls with the help of 3 boundaries. Rahul and Shardul combined for a 43-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada gained the maximum of five wickets while Nandre Burger managed to get two wickets. Marco Jansen got one wicket in his kitty.
