SA vs IND: Gautam Gambhir Picks Indian Playing XI For The 1st Test Against South Africa, Includes One Uncapped Player

India and South Africa are all set to face each other in the upcoming two-match Test series. The first game will start on December 26 at Centurion at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has picked his probable India playing XI ahead of the first Test. Gambhir voiced the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal is set to make his debut in South Africa. Shubman Gill is recommended for the crucial No.3 position, traditionally held by veteran Cheteshwar Pujara. Gambhir picked Virat Kohli at number four.

Former KKR captain picked Shreyas Iyer for number five and wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul at number six. His further pick is one between left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and the veteran R Ashwin. He also recommended Shardul Thakur in the playing XI due to his ability of both batting and bowling.

Picking the seamers, he got Prasidh Krishna assuming his debut along with Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.
