Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad registered his name on a special record during his 69-run knock against the Mumbai Indians. Gaikwad broke KL Rahul’s record and became the fastest Indian to reach 2000 runs in the IPL.
Since making his maiden appearance for the yellow army, Gaikwad has become one of the most consistent performers with the bat. Gaikwad just took 57 innings to reach 2000 runs in the IPL. Before Gaikwad, it was Kl Rahul who reached 2000 runs in 60 innings.
Gaikwad overall is the third fastest in the history of the IPL to reach 2000 runs, only behind Chris Gayle and Shaun Marsh.
It is a well-known fact that Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored all his IPL runs for the Chennai Super Kings.
He became the sixth batter overall after Suresh Raina,MS Dhoni Faf du Plessis,Murali Vijay, and Michael Hussey. Gaikwad has 15 half centuries and one century for CSK so far in his career.
