In the ninth match of the IPL 2024 match, Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Capitals by 12 runs. This match was full of thrills and the fans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium got to see an exciting competition between both teams.
In this match, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first. Riyan Parag took all the responsibilities for the team and smashed 84 runs in 45 balls which included seven fours and six sixes.
For Delhi Capitals, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Anrich Nortje, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav got one wicket each.
While chasing the target of 174 runs, Delhi Capitals managed to get only 173 runs at the loss of five wickets. Capitals needed seventeen runs in the last over but it was Avesh Khan for Rajasthan Royals who brought the match back for Rajasthan Royals. David Warner(49) and Tristan Stubbs(44) tried their best for the capitals but did not get support from any batters.
For Rajasthan Royals, Nandre Burger and Yuzvendra Chahal got two wickets each while Avesh Khan managed to get one wicket.
For the outstanding performance with the bat, Riyan Parag has been adjudged as the man of the match.
With this win, Rajasthan Royals has now reached the second position in the points table of IPL 2024.
