Rohit Sharma’s Historic Achievement: First Mumbai Indians Player to Reach IPL Milestone

Team India’s skipper and Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma are all set to reach a special milestone in the history of the IPL.

Rohit Sharma is all set to become the first Mumbai Indians player to play 200 IPL matches for the franchise. No other player apart from Rohit Sharma is close to playing this number of games for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, the current Mumbai’s batting coach, Kieron Pollard, has played the second-most number of games for the franchise. The Carabian star has appeared in 189 matches for the Mumbai Indians.

In his entire IPL career, Rohit Sharma has played for only two IPL franchises: the Delhi Chargers and the Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma played in 45 matches for the Daccan Chargers before getting picked by MI.

Rohit Sharma has also been the franchise’s most successful skipper. Under his captaincy over the span of 10 years, the franchise has emerged as IPL champions on five occasions.

The Mumbai Indians are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad, and this will be Rohit’s 200th match for them. The Mumbai Indians will look to get their first victory of the season as the five-time IPL champions lost their first match against the Gujarat Titans by six runs.

Hardik Pandya, who is currently leading the Mumbai Indians in this year’s IPL, has been criticized a lot by fans for his decision-making in the first game as skipper of the Mumbai Indians.
