Rohit Sharma to make a comeback in T 20I for India? Check out

It is being said that Rohit Sharma, India’s cricketer, is thinking of playing for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) which is scheduled to start on November 26. Nevertheless, the veteran opener and the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) have neither confirmed nor denied his participation in the tournament.

Rohit has not participated in T20Is and Test matches and is now playing only in the ODI format for India. Initially, the right-handed batter had a rough start in this series, but later he was declared Player of the Series in Australia.

Rohit Sharma Last Played for Team India on the Australia Tour

Sharma made a comeback in the international ODI series last month in Australia, returning after a hiatus of more than seven months from the national setup. Although the series ended with India losing 1-2, Sharma was a standout with his batting performances.

The 38-year-old batter had a tough opening match in Perth with only eight runs. However, the second match saw Sharma scoring 73 runs, showing that he was back in form. But his best inning was in the last match in Sydney where he scored a magnificent not out 121 runs helping India win by nine wickets.

The experienced opening batsman scored 202 runs in three innings at a whopping average of 101. His hundred and regular run-getting were the main pros for India despite losing the series. He will aspire to be among the company of players for the 2027 World Cup to be held in the land of African tribes.

Rohit Sharma’s participation in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy still uncertain

A video on X by RevSportz showcases that Rohit Juglan believes that Sharma is possible to play in a few matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Juglan mentioned that nothing is decided yet, but the batter wants a bit of active game time as a part of his fitness routine.

“I have a piece of information which is rather fresh. I cannot vouch for it completely but it seems like he would be playing a few Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games. I still cannot be so sure about it, though,” said Juglan.

“However, he is really looking at it as a part of his training just to get some game time. He is trying to figure out whether he can get into one, two, three, or even none of the games. At this point, I cannot say anything for sure, but I can tell that he is moving in that direction.”

Rohit Sharma at the Centre of Excellence before the ODIs against South Africa

Rohit Juglan was the one who narrated that Rohit Sharma’s journey at the Centre of Excellence was first laid down with two days that completely revolved around fitness. Later on, he moved to the batting drills where he had mixed up the bowlers facing both the fast and spinners bowlers.

“Rohit Sharma at the Centre of Excellence started the fitness training for the first two days and this was the highlight of that time period. He has been practicing day by day and has moved on to the main area of batting for the last three or four days. The bowlers consist of around three to four fast bowlers and an equal number of spinners who are taking turn to bowl to him,” Juglan shared.

“Sharma has been having a 3 p.m. training slot, two hours of which are all dedicated to facing both pace and spin, to boost up his batting skill before he goes back to competitive cricket.”
