Rohit Sharma and company take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing five-match test series against England as they defeat Ben Stokes’s team in Rajkot by a huge margin of 434 runs.
Team India declared their second inning with a score of 430/4, setting up a huge task ahead of England to chase the target of 557 runs to win the test match. However, the visitors fell like a deck of cards in their batting as they were bowled out for 122 inside forty-overs.
One of the unsung heroes in Team India’s victory was Mumbai batter Sarfraz Khan, who scored 62 in the first innings and a 68 not out in the second innings, which included six fours and three sixes.
In the first inning, Ravindra Jadeja was sent ahead of Sarfaraz Khan in the pecking order and scored a sublime 112. However, in the second inning, Sarfraz Khan was sent up the order ahead of Jadeja in the batting order.
After the match got over, Rohit Sharma said that Jadeja has been scoring runs for team India across the three formats for quite some time now, and he has a lot of experience with the amount of runs, especially since he has scored in red ball format.
Rohit further said that he knows what Sarfraz can do with the bat, so he wanted to give it to him sometime. Rohit revealed that the plans are made looking at the opposition bowler and their strength on a particular day.
Team India will take on England in Ranchi for the fourth test, which starts on February 23.
