Rohit Sharma Provided Massive Update On Bumrah’s Replacement for T20 World Cup

Currently, Indian team is facing the worst situation in their death bowling department due to the unavailability of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The premium pacer of the Indian side is having a back issues and has been ruled from the upcoming ICC mega event in Australia. Bumrah’s absence is the most significant loss for Rohit & Co in the T20 World Cup 2022. However, they were able to win the T20I series against South Africa for the time on their home soil in the absence of Bumrah.

In the 2nd and 3rd matches of the series, Rohit’s bowlers leaked 200+ runs in 20 overs, and in the last match, all three bowlers, Deepak, Harshal, and Mohammad Siraj, conceded 40+ runs in their quota of 4 overs. Death bowling attack is a major concern for the Indian team from the Asia Cup 2022 and it seems that things are getting worst for them. Now, losing the star pacer is another major blow.

Selectors are taking time to give any name on Bumrah’s replacement, while skipper Rohit gave a massive update on the star pacer’s replacement during post-match conference after the last match against South Africa.

Speaking on the issue, the skipper said any decision would be taken considering the bowler’s experience in Australia’s conditions. Any bowler’s name will be announced only after team reaches Australia.

Rohit said, “Bumrah is out of the World Cup, so we need to find a bowler with bowling experience in Australia. Not sure who that bowler is going to be; we will see once we travel to Australia, we’ll find it out there”.

“If we look at the current set-up Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar are the two standby bowlers who’ll be traveling with the team to Australia,” further he added.

Mohammad Shami is the most experienced bowler, but Deepak Chahar has also put strong case for himself with his impressive performance in the recent series. Along with Shami and Deepak Chahar, Md Siraj and Umesh Yadav are also good contender of this spot.
