However, ahead of the upcoming IPL season, South African pace sensation Gerald Coetzee said that he is very excited to play under Hardik Pandya and bowl alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
In his recent interaction with Rev Sportz, Coetzee said, “I’m extremely grateful to be picked up by the Mumbai Indians. I cannot wait to run in at the Wankhede, listen to the fans sing and cheer, play under Hardik (Pandya), and bowl with Bumrah. To all the fans, I cannot wait to see your faces and the flags in the crowd.”
Coetzee was one of the most impressive bowlers for South Africa in the 2023 World Cup, which took place in India. The pacer picked up 20 wickets in eight matches.
Seeing his impressive performance in the World Cup, he was one of the hot comodity in the IPL, and the Mumbai franchise signed the pace sensation for a whopping 5 crore.
Speaking of IPL, Coetzee said, “IPL auctions are always fascinating. For every cricketer, whoever is there in the auction, everyone is always anticipating what’s going on. I don’t think I will be watching. I might be on the road or in the bush for a day.
“I am unsure where I would be, but I will not put myself through that. If I get any messages or calls, wait patiently and see what happens. But I don’t think I will be watching .”

Speaking of the Mumbai Indians, they are all set to play their first match with the Gujrat Titans on March 24.
