“Rishabh pant should be…” Cricket Star Expresses Anger at DC Captain over DRS

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant was involved in a heated argument with the umpire over a DRS call. The incident took place in the fourth over of DC’s innings when Ishant Sharma bowled a delivery down the leg side to Devdutt Padikkal. The on-field umpire signaled wide, but Pant made a gesture for review.

The reply showed that the delivery was wide, but the commentators felt that the DC skipper was insisting to the umpire that he didn’t ask for a review.

However, former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist was not too impressed with Pant’s behavior during the whole drama.

Gilchrist said that Pat should be fined for his misconduct. The former World Cup-winning player said that umpires should have some sort of command and authority to deal with players.

In his interaction with Cricbuzz, Adam Gilchrist said, “I saw another example tonight where umpires need to take better control of games, and that is in any format. They just have to do a better job of moving things forward. There was a dispute over whether Rishabh had reviewed it.

Okay, there was a miscommunication over the review call. But they stood there and spoke about that for 3–4 minutes. It’s a very simple conversation, I believe. No matter how much Rishabh is complaining or any other player is complaining, umpires should just say, ‘it’s over’ and quickly move on. But if he keeps talking, he should get fined.”
