India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup is going to be picked either by the end of April or by the first week of May. IPL is the main criteria for the T20 World Cup. Speaking of Rishabh Pant, he has done enough of what was needed from him to be picked for the 20th World Cup.
According to reports, the Indian team management is convinced of Rishabh Pant’s fitness and his contribution with both bat and ball. Rishabh Pant has so far scored 153 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 155.
Rishabh Pant earlier met with a dreadful car accident and had several injuries. Rishabh Pant had to go for surgery, which ruled him out of cricketing action for 14–15 months.
However, he has made a return to competitive cricket with this year’s IPL.
Speaking about Rishabh Pant, former Australian World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke said, “Yeah, look, it’s great for Indian cricket, but it’s also great for Rishabh Pant. I think the work that has gone into his rehab to get back to that level of play at any standard is an amazing achievement. He deserves a lot of credit for his hard work, and it’s great to see him on the field, captaining and playing well, batting and keeping. He’s a wonderful player, and everybody is happy that he’s back on the field, and we want to see him play for Delhi, but we also want to see him come back and play for India as soon as possible.”
On the other hand, it is certain that Virat Kohli is going to feature in this year’s World Cup after speculations were made about him getting dropped from the squad.
