After a good three-match T20I series against Australia, Team India is all set to take the same number of matches in an ODI series against the Proteas. For India, KL Rahul is leading the team and recently he gave a hint on Rinku Singh’s potential ODI debut in the forthcoming series.
Praising Rinku’s noteworthy performance with the bat, he commended the young player, highlighting his refreshing and distinctive style at the crease. Rinku made a huge impression during his T20 International debut at the Asian Games 2023. He smashed his first T20I half-century in the recent match against South Africa.
Rahul praised Rinku Singh for the potential to be a finisher for Team India and also for soaking the pressure in the crunch situation.
While having a conversation with India Today, KL Rahul said, “He (Rinku Singh) has shown what a really good player he is. Watching him in the IPL, we all knew that he was very skilled. But what’s been really good is the temperament he has shown in the T20I series and the game awareness and calmness that he has shown under pressure. That has been very refreshing for me to see on television. I just spoke to him about that as well. He has performed really well across formats in first-class cricket. So, yes, he will get his opportunity even in the ODI series.”

Rahul also confirmed that Sanju Samson will play in the middle order for the team and he is expected to get the position of fifth or sixth in the batting lineup. Samson was part of the team India in the Asia Cup and he looks forward to playing some remarkable innings in the series against South Africa.
