One of the finest batters in world cricket Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam added another milestone to his name as he became the first Pakistani batter to score 4000 runs in T20 cricket. He becomes the second batter overall, after Indian batting legend Virat Kohli, to achieve this milestone.
However, Pakistan’s skipper missed the tally of Virat Kohli by just 14 runs in order to become the all-time highest run scorer in T20 history. Babar Azam has 4023 runs in 112 innings in T20 cricket. He will try to surpass Virat Kohli in the upcoming T-20 World Cup.
Babar Azam, however, surpassed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma in the runs tally after scoring 32 runs in the 4th T20 against England. The first and third Twenty20 matches of the series were washed out, which prevented Babar from surpassing Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli has been at the top in terms of the most number of runs in the shortest format of the game despite playing just 2 T-20 matches after the T-20 World Cup 2022. Virat Kohli has also played fewer matches in T20 cricket than Babar Azam and has a better average and strike rate.
