Record Alert: Cheteshwar Pujara Is About To Surpassed Sir Don Bradman

The second match of the two-Test series will be played between India and Bangladesh from Thursday. This Test is a must-win match for the Indian team to qualify for the finals of the World Test Championship. Many star players of India, like Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah, are not playing in this Test series.

Pujara hit the century in the second innings of the test match, and with the help of that fastest hundred, he equaled Ross Taylor of New Zealand, Gordon Greenidge and Clive Lloyd of West Indies, and Mike Hussey of Australia. Pujara has a chance to leave behind Sir Don Bradman in the second test match against Bangladesh.

Cheteshwar Pujara has scored 6984 runs in 97 Tests at an average of 44.77, including 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries to his name. At the same time, Legendary Australian cricketer Don Bradman scored 6996 runs in 52 Tests in his Test career with an average of 99.94. It means that Pujara is just 12 runs behind Bradman, and not just Bradman, Pujara also has a chance to surpass former England captain Andrew Strauss. Strauss scored 7037 runs in his Test career, and Pujara is just 53 runs behind him.

Pujara is in the eighth position in scoring the most runs in Tests for India. Ahead of him, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly are standing on the list of the most run scorers.

The record of scoring the most runs in the overall Test is in the name of the great Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar scored 15,921 runs in 200 Tests at an average of 53.78.
