Record Alert: Babar Azam Achieved Another Huge Milestone, Surpasses Hashim Amla, Dhawan And Warner To Create The World Record

Pakistan lost the final game of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand but won the series with a scoreline of 4-1. During the match, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam played his 100th ODI game and despite only scoring one run he achieved a huge milestone.

Babar now has the most runs in ODI after playing the 100th game in 50-over format. After completing his 100th ODI, Babar Azam now holds the record for the most runs scored by a player. He has a total of 5089 runs after his 100th ODI game with an impressive average of 59.17. He has also smashed 18 centuries in his ODI career.

Hashim Amla is the second player on this list with 4808 runs, followed by India’s Shikhar Dhawan who has 4309 runs. David Warner is in fourth place with 4217 runs and Shai Hope is in fifth place with 4193 runs after the 100th game in 50-over format.

Pakistan lost this 5th ODI by 47 runs. This match was played at National Stadium Karachi where Pakistan failed to chase a target of 300 runs against the Kiwis.

After the win, the Pakistan captain talked about the series and said,“It was a brilliant series, but didn’t finish it the way we wanted. We didn’t do well with the bat at the top and Agha and Iftikhar got a good partnership but we left too many runs for them. We always have to be prepared to perform irrespective of the conditions. Needed to play better cricket today.”

He further added,”Overall, it was a good series for the team and our bowlers did well throughout. We wanted to check the bench strength and there were a lot of positives to take from this series. We chased 300-plus and also defended under 300, so it was a good series for us.”
