Rashid Khan Threatens To Pull Out Of BBL, Know The Big Reason

Australia Cricket has called off the One Day Internationals series against Afghanistan because the government of Afghanistan Tablian’s announced that they restrict women and girls from education and employment.

After that, Afghanistan’s cricketer Rashid Khan threatened to pull out from the BBL, where he featured Adelaide Striker and decided to pull out of this after the decision by Cricket Australia on the ODI series against Afghanistan.

“I am disappointed Australia pulled out of the series to play us in March. I take great pride in representing my country, and we have made great progress on the world stage. This decision from CA sets us back on that journey. If playing vs Afghanistan is so uncomfortable for Australia, then I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable with my presence in the BBL. Therefore, I will strongly consider my future in that competition, ” Rashid Khan tweeted.

After that, other players supported the boycott of Rashid Khan. And Afghanistan Cricket Board has also shown their presence in this matter and called this decision statement “pathetic”. ACB also said they would go to ICC over this issue against Australian Cricket Board by saying “prioritizing political interests over the principles of fair play and sportsmanship” and “undermining the integrity of the game and damaging the relationship between the two nations”.

Earlier, Cricket Australia had announced that they withdrew Australia’s men’s team from three ODI match series in UAE.

“Cricket Australia is committed to supporting growing the game for women and men around the world, including in Afghanistan, and will continue to engage with the Afghanistan Cricket Board in anticipation of improved conditions for women and girls in the country,” said Cricket Australia.

Now Afghanistan Cricket Board is looking to rethink the participation of Afghan players in the Big Bash League.

“Cricket Australia’s decision to withdraw from upcoming matches against Afghanistan is coming after consultation and potential enforcement from the Australian Government, which is an unfortunate attempt to enter the realm of politics and politicize the sport,” the ACB provided in a statement.

“Cricket has played a significant role in promoting unity and national pride in Afghanistan. After years of war and conflict, Cricket has helped to bring people together and provide a sense of normalcy to the country. It has also been an important source of hope and inspiration for all Afghans, particularly young people. In addition, Cricket has also been an important tool for promoting education and social development in the country.

Cricket has been an important tool for promoting peace, unity, and development in Afghanistan. It will continue to inspire and hope for the country’s people in the coming years.”

This is the second time Cricket Australia has canceled the match against Afghanistan. In November 2021, Cricket Australia canceled a test match against Afghanistan, which was scheduled to be held in Hobart. And now they again called off the ODI series.
