R Ashwin gave a savage reply to Michael Vaughan after India’s victory over England in the semifinals

India beat England in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final and reached the final after not being there for 10 years. India batted first and scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma made 57 runs and Suryakumar Yadav made 47 runs. Then, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel each took 3 wickets, helping India to dismiss England for 103 runs. India won the semi-final by 68 runs and will play against South Africa in the final on Saturday.

During the game, former England captain Michael Vaughan made many predictions on X (previously known as Twitter). In one of his posts, Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin responded humorously, making everyone laugh.

When England’s batting failed, Vaughan said, “India really deserves to be in the final. They’ve been the best team in the tournament so far. It was always going to be tough for England on this pitch. India is just much better on slower, spinning pitches.”

With this victory, Rohit became the first Indian captain to lead the team in three major ICC tournaments within a year — the 2023 World Test Championship, the 2023 ODI World Cup, and now the T20 World Cup.

The Indian captain, often criticized for not performing well in crucial matches, scored a valuable 57 runs from 39 balls on a difficult pitch where the ball was hard to hit, helping India reach a score of 171 for 7 in 20 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav deserves praise for scoring 47 runs from 36 balls, and Hardik Pandya for hitting two big sixes in his 23 runs off 13 balls. Ravindra Jadeja (17) and Axar Patel (10) also made helpful contributions.

In response, England lost five wickets by the halfway point and couldn’t bounce back, getting all out for 103 runs in 16.4 overs.
