Problem For Delhi Capitals, Star Batter Gets Injured Before IPL 2024

Due to an adductor injury, David Warner will be absent from the final T20I against New Zealand in Auckland. However, he is anticipated to recover in time for the commencement of IPL 2024 next month. Warner was strategically rested during the second T20I on Friday as part of Australia’s rotation plan employed throughout the series.

“Warner will require a brief recovery period which is not expected to affect his availability for the upcoming Indian Premier League leading into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup,” a CA statement said.

David Warner is anticipated to undergo a recovery period of around seven to 10 days. His non-participation in the final match of the series signifies the conclusion of Warner’s bilateral international career. His retirement from representing Australia coincides with the approaching T20 World Cup scheduled for June.

During the first match in Wellington, David Warner scored 32 runs off 20 balls and encountered disapproving reactions from the home crowd. This situation brought back memories of the crowd’s behavior that Warner had mentioned during the 2016 tour.

Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are anticipated to be rested for the upcoming Sunday’s match, after taking part in the two games. Mitchell Starc and Spencer Johnson are expected to be the replacements for these players.

This year David Warner will represent the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. This injury is not a big concern for the left-handed batter and he will be there to serve the franchise.
