Shreyanka Patil, an offspinner, and Priya Mishra, a legspinner, are out of the India A women’s trip to Australia because of injuries. Both were first picked for the squad that would play in different formats. Patil was chosen for the T20 games, and Mishra was going to play in the one-day and four-day matches. But they had to pass a fitness test before being officially included, and they didn’t pass. They will stay at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to get better. The board’s doctors will watch over them.
Both players stay with the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are working on getting back to playing, the BCCI said.
Patil hurt her finger at the Women’s Asia Cup last July. She was out for a while, even though she played briefly at the T20 World Cup in the UAE in October. She then got injured again and couldn’t play in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) earlier in the year.
Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat Called Up
Because they are out, Dhara Gujjar from Bengal and Prema Rawat from Uttarakhand will take their places in all three formats. Gujjar was first picked for the longer format games, and now she will be in the T20 squad as well. Rawat was first going to be in the T20 matches, but now she will play in the one-day and four-day games, too.
Yastika Bhatia, a wicketkeeper-batter, is joining the one-day squad. Bhatia last played in the WPL 2025 for the Mumbai Indians and recently played in two warm-up games against the ECB Development Women’s XI.
India A will start their tour with a three-match T20 series in Mackay starting on August 7. The one-day matches will be in Norths on August 13, 15, and 17. Then, there will be one four-day game at Allan Border Field in Brisbane starting on August 21.
