Piyush Chawla expects team India to comeback stronger as Eng leads the Tendulkar Anderson trophy

Piyush Chawla, the former Indian cricketer, shared his thoughts on the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, the five-Test series between England and India in the UK. England leads the series 2-1 after a narrow 22-run victory in the third Test at Lord’s. Currently, the fourth Test is underway in Manchester.

Speaking with ANI, Chawla noted the Indian team’s transition and the inclusion of many young players. He commented that even though India is behind 2-1, they’ve started well in Manchester, and he expects things to improve.

Looking back at the first day of the fourth Test, Sai Sudarshan (61) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) each scored half-centuries, helping India reach 264/4 in Manchester on Wednesday. At the end of the day, India stood at 264/4 after 83 overs, with Ravindra Jadeja (19) and Shardul Thakur (19) at the crease. Ben Stokes took two wickets (2/47 in 14 overs), while Chris Woakes (1/43 in 17 overs) and Liam Dawson (1/45 in 15 overs) each took one for the home side.

Piyush Chawla is now playing for India Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. India Champions lost their first match to South Africa Champions and will play Australia Champions on Saturday. West Indies Champions tied their opening game against South Africa Champions and narrowly won against England Champions. Their next game is against Australia Champions on Wednesday.

Chawla said about playing in the WCL 2025, It is a fantastic feeling to come here and play the game again…We have a lot of experienced players in the squad, and we did not get a good start in the tournament, but hopefully, we will perform better in the rest of the matches.
