PCB Accepts For India vs Pakistan High Voltage Clash At Narendra Modi Stadium, 2023 World Cup Schedule To Out Today

The much-awaited schedule of the 50-over World Cup is set to be out today. Pakistan Cricket Team, which asked the ICC to make some venue changes in their schedule has accepted the module of ICC and tends to go with the designated one only. PCB raised concerns regarding the India vs Pakistan match in Ahmedabad, as well as matches against Australia and Afghanistan in Bengaluru and Chennai. However, the ICC and the BCCI opposed these modifications. Now the schedule of the upcoming World Cup will be out during a ceremony held in Mumbai.

While talking to InsideSport, a senior BCCI official said, “The schedule will be out on Tuesday. There is an ICC event. Yes, Pakistan has agreed to the planned schedule. There will not be any changes.”

Even after some objections from the Pakistan Cricket Team, the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Pakistan had requested to change the venues to either Chennai, Bengaluru, or Kolkata. PCB cited political reasons for their request.

The match is important for the ICC from the viewership point of view. The stadium in Gujarat has a capacity of 1,30,000. BCCI believes that all the tickets for this match will be sold out and therefore they don’t want to make any changes to the schedule.

“India Pakistan will be in Ahmedabad. Yes, Pakistan did put in a request. But there won’t be any changes. It is the most important clash of the entire tournament and there is no way ICC would let go of that. The next big stadium is in Lucknow and Kolkata. But the hosts have the rights to determine a venue and Ahmedabad fits the best considering the profile of the match with VVIPs attending the clash,” the official said
