PBKS Assistant Coach Brad Haddin Reflects on Dropped Catches and Loss against RCB

Punjab Kings assistant coach Brad Haddin blames the team for dropping catches in their 60-run loss against RCB. Punjab Kings were sloppy on the field and dropped as many as five catches, which included two crucial catches by Virat Kohli on 0 and 10 by Ashutosh Sharma and rilee rossouw, respectively.

Punjab Kings also dropped a sitter of Rajat Patidar on a deep square leg, with Harshal Patel being the main culprit who dropped him on 0.

Both Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli went on to score half centuries, which helped RCB put a competitive score of 241 on board.

In his post-match presentation, Brad Haddin said, “Perfectly, I reasoned, if we examine the part of the game where we dropped the two players and one of them scored a hundred ninety-two and the other scored fifty, both on a duck, then that’s where the game is won or lost. I believe that neither team did much in the batting or bowling departments. We lost the game because of the catches we made.”

Brad Haddin also shared his opinion about PBKs once again getting eliminated in the playoff race and about their find of the season, Shashank Singh.

Speaking about the same, he said, “Though it’s disheartening to witness, inspiring the lads shouldn’t be difficult to accomplish. One of the best competitions in the world, this is a fantastic chance to showcase your abilities. We’ve only just had a chance to see what Shashank has accomplished in this competition, but there is still a chance for players in the two games left. They must take what has transpired personally and figure out how to improve the outcome in the upcoming seasons.”
