The Indian Premier League holds the tagline “Where talent needs opportunity.”
This is quite true in many ways, as many of the players who have performed in the IPL have gone on to represent India on an international level.
However, there’s another concern: many of the players are not able to make their name even after getting into the limelight.
There’s been many such stories, and one of them is the story of Shivam Sharma, who played IPL for the Punjab Kings in a couple of seasons way back in 2014 and 2015. The player played for them in five matches and picked up four wickets.
The player has not been seen in the IPL for a long period of time. He even played List A cricket for Delhi in 2021.
The player took X and wrote an emotional post saying that he doesn’t have an answer to his parents questions regarding whether he will ever play in the IPL again.
Shivam Sharma wrote, “It was emotional for me when my parents asked me today if I would play IPL again; I didn’t know what to say.” However, Mom insisted that I must continue my hard work and be grateful to God for everything, and rewards will be reaped again for sure.”
