Rajasthan Royals have got a new hero in the form of Riyan Parag as they beat Delhi Capitals by 12 runs, winning their second encounter of the season.
After Riyan’s match-winning performance, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson backs the young batter to give something special to Indian cricket.
Speaking at his post-match presentation, Sanju Samson said that there’s something special that Riyan Parag can give to Indian cricket. Riyan Parag scored 84 of just 45 balls, which included seven boundaries and six sixes.
Samson said, “Riyan has been a big name in the last 4-5 years. Whenever I go back to Kerala, everyone keeps asking me about him, and it’s great to see him delivering for us. The season hasn’t begun yet. Hopefully, he will continue his form. There is something very special he can give to Indian cricket.”
Samson also gave insights about him asking Avesh Khan to bowl the final over Trent Boult and Neil Burger in the mix.
Samson said, “I think basically it’s about what zones the players are in at different times. At times, they are in different zones. Some days, they are calm and composed. You have to take the decisions looking at them. I felt Sandy was very calm, and I went with him in the 19th over. Even Avesh was very calm in the last over.”
