Pakistan Open ICC World Cup 2023 Campaign On 6th October In Hyderabad, Check The Full Schedule

According to the schedule released by the ICC and BCCI, Pakistan will have a more consolidated schedule for their matches in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 compared to other teams. They will play their nine league matches in only five cities in India.

Pakistan will kick off their campaign by facing both qualifying teams in Hyderabad on October 6 and 12. They will then travel to Ahmedabad for the much-anticipated clash against India on October 15. Afterward, they will move to Bengaluru to play against Australia on October 20. Their next matches will be in Chennai, where they will face Afghanistan on October 23 and South Africa on October 27.

It’s worth noting that the PCB had requested a venue swap for their fixtures against Afghanistan and Australia, wanting to play Afghanistan in Bengaluru and Australia in Chennai. However, this request has not been granted.

Pakistan will then head to Kolkata to play against Bangladesh on October 31 and return to Bengaluru for their match against New Zealand on November 4. Their final league match will take place in Kolkata against England on November 12, played on the last day of the league phase.

The tournament will be played across ten venues in India, with the semi-finals scheduled in Mumbai and Kolkata on November 15 and 16, respectively. The final will take place in Ahmedabad on November 19. The tournament format will follow the same structure as the 2019 edition, with ten teams playing each other once in the league phase and the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals.

Pakistan, who finished fifth in the league stage in the 2019 World Cup, missing out on the semi-finals on net run rate, will be eager to make a strong comeback in the 2023 tournament. They will also have warm-up games scheduled between September 29 and October 3 to prepare for the event.

The strained political relations between the two countries have resulted in Pakistan not touring India since the 2016 T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently evaluating the team’s participation in the World Cup, and further communication will be conveyed to the PCB in due course.
