PAK vs ENG, 6th T20I: Babar Azam Equals The World Record Of Virat Kohli

Pakistan and England clashed with each other in the 6th match of the 7-match T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The visitors showed brilliant batting skills and chased the target of 170 runs in just 14.3 overs.

However, even after this loss Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam managed to create a world record. Pakistan came to bat out first and scored 169 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In this inning, Babar smashed 87 runs in just 59 balls and equaled the world record of Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli.

During his 87-run knock, Babar Azam completed his 3000 T20I runs. This is the joint fastest 3000 T20I run by any batsman in terms of innings. This world record previously belonged to Virat Kohli who achieved this milestone in 81 innings. Babar Azam achieved this feat the moment he reached the 52-run mark.

Kohli reached his 3000-runs mark in the year 2021 during the T20I series against England in Ahmedabad.

Chasing the target of 170 runs England’s opener Philip Salt scored a blistering knock of 88 runs in just 41 balls, Alex Hales(27), Dawid Malan(26), and Ben Duckett(26) helped the team to a super win of 8 wickets.
