Now Arjun Tendulkar Shares His Opinion On ‘Manakading’ And Its Thinkable

Son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, who is playing for Goa now has shared his opinion on one of the most debatable topics these days – Mankading. The all-rounder said that he is in favor of Mankading a non-striker but would not conduct the action personally. After the opening day of Matchday 6 in the domestic tournament, the young player, who was playing against Services in the Ranji Trophy, expressed his opinion on the matter.

The player told CricketNext that he supports Mankading and he does not agree with those who claim it is against the spirit of the game.

While having a discussion on this matter on CricketNext, Arjun Tendulkar said, “I’m completely in favor of Mankading. It’s in the Law. For the people who say it’s against the spirit of the game, I disagree.”

However, Arjun came up with an interesting point where he feels it is a waste of time for a bowler to conduct such an act just before delivering the ball, and he would never do it by himself.

He explained, “I personally won’t do it because I can’t stop and remove the bails in my run up. It’s too much effort and I won’t waste my energy in it but if someone does it, I’m in favor of it”.

Recently, in the last over of India’s first ODI in the three-match series against Sri Lanka, the Indian pacer Mohammad Shami did a Mankad to Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka at the non-striker’s end. However, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma withdrew the appeal saying it was not the way they had planned to terminate Shanaka or any other batter.
