“No one Spoke to me…”Ignored India Star’s Discussion with Team Management

Team India’s middle-order batter Hanuma Vihari has been out of India’s test setup for a long period of time. However, Hanuma Vihari is eyeing a comeback to India’s test set-up after his Prolific run at the domestic level.

Vihari’s form has contributed to Andhra Pradesh’s golden run in Group B of the Ranji Trophy. Andhera are comfortably placed at number two in the points table, winning three out of the five games they played.
Hanuma Vihari has helped the team’s cause by scoring 365 runs in seven innings. His recent scores have helped him keep his average over 50 on the domestic circuit.

Vihari has been out of India’s test set-up for a long period of time; however, he is keen to make his comeback in the test set-up, leaving his mark in domestic cricket.
After Andhra Pradesh’s match against Bihar, he said, “I do feel sad and disappointed, but it’s not just me; everyone goes through ups and downs like that. My job is to score runs. The season has been quite good, both for me and the team. So the main aim is to score as many runs as possible to get back in the test set-up.”
Vihari is known for his gritty knock of 23*of 161 in Sydney against Australia, which is often regarded as one of the best test knocks in Indian test history.

But since then, he has not been given any chances, and as of now, things stand so that he is even not on the radar of selectors.

“No one spoke to me, but Rahul David did speak to me after my last test, telling me what areas I needed to improve on. But I have not been contacted by anyone since then.”
Vihari made his last test appearance for India in 2022 at Edgbaston, scoring 22 and 11 in both innings.

Andhra Pradesh will now face Uttar Pradesh in their next encounter on February 9.
