N Jagdeesan to be added to team India’s squad ahead of the 5th test

Rishabh Pant won’t be keeping for the rest of the 4th Test against England as he has hurt his toe. N Jagadeesan of Tamil Nadu is set to join the Indian team as cover.

BCCI said Pant can still bat if the team needs him in this crucial game at Old Trafford. They posted on X that Dhruv Jurel will be the keeper because Pant injured his right foot on Day1.

Even with the injury, Pant joined the team on Day 2 and can bat if required.

Earlier BCCI had said Pant is out for the series and Ishan Kishan will replace him. Later it was announced that Jagadeesan will travel to UK to replace Pant before the 5th Test.

Jagadeesan will be the wicketkeeper-batter while Pant is out. Pant got a standing ovation when he came to bat with a fractured foot.

Pant batted after Shardul Thakur’s wicket fell, India were 314/6. He scored 54 and India reached 358 in the first innings.

Pant can change the game with his aggressive batting. After more tests, Pant arrived at the stadium in a protective boot.

A BCCI source told PTI that Pant’s metatarsal bones are broken and it’s not good sign. Blood was seen on his right foot and the area was swollen.
