India and Australia will play four test matches in February-March 2023. This series is very important for both teams to reach the final of the World Test Championship. Earlier, Kangaroos had played the last test series against India in 2017. The Indian team won that series under the captaincy of Virat Kohli by 2-1.
There are still a few days left for the beginning of this series, but from today onward, former cricketers have started advising their team and other cryptic statements. Looking at the upcoming series, former Australia wicketkeeper Ian Healy has raised questions about Indian wickets.
“India has a good team, but I’m not too scared of their spinners unless they produced difficult wickets, as it happened in half the series last time. Two wickets were terrible, unfair, and the spinners dominated from day one,” said former Australian cricketer.
Ian Healy further predicted that if their premium pacer Mitchel Starc is unavailable for the first test match, India will easily win the series by 2-1.
“So that type of thing they will play better on than we will, but if they get flat wickets that India used to put out, nice flat batting wickets, and bowlers have to work hard, I think we can do it. But my prediction is 2-1 for India if Starc’s unavailable in the first Test. If Starc is not there for the first Test, then he will not get time to prepare for the second Test,” Healy further predicted and added.
Australia has picked Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Swepson, Ashton Agar and uncapped Todd Murphy for the tour of India. Australia has already suffered a blow before the series as their left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc will not be available for the first Test to be held from 9th February. Starc suffered a finger injury during the Boxing Day Test against South Africa and will join the team before the Delhi Test.
