Mumbai Indians Roped In Mark Boucher AS The New Head Coach Before IPL 2023

For the upcoming IPL season, Mumbai Indians have now roped in a former South African wicket-keeper as their head coach. Earlier, former Sri Lankan Star Mahela Jayawardene had the coaching duties of Mumbai Indians but now he and Zaheer Khan have been asked to expand the Mumbai Indians franchise globally and this is why they have been freed from their duties. Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed as the Global Head Of Cricket Performance, while Zaheer Khan has been named as Global Head of Cricket Development.

Currently, Boucher is serving as the head coach of South Africa and he has said that after the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia he will not continue there as the coach.

Apart from Mark Boucher, Hashmi Amla and Simon Katich have also been assigned the coaching duties of Mumbai Indians.

Akash. M. Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm, is pleased to have Mark Boucher as the head coach and said, “It’s a pleasure to welcome Mark Boucher to Mumbai Indians. With his proven expertise on the field and off it as a coach guiding his team to numerous victories, Mark will add immense value to MI and take forward its legacy.”
