Mumbai Indians Officials Surprised Everyone, Announced Their Skipper For The First Season Of WPL

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) first season will begin on March 4 with Gujrat Giants playing against Mumbai Indians. Earlier, the Mumbai Indians women’s team also announced the name of the captain of their team and assigned this responsibility to Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. In the auction, the Mumbai Indians franchise had spent Rs 1.80 crores to buy Harmanpreet Kaur.

Harmanpreet Kaur played her 150th international match during the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup, after which she also became the first player in men’s and women’s cricket to reach this milestone.

On the occasion of making Harmanpreet Kaur the captain, the owner of this franchise, Nita Ambani, said that we are pleased to make Harmanpreet our captain. While leading the national team, Harmanpreet Kaur led the team to many thrilling victories. With the support of Charlotte and Jhulan, our team will also be able to play better on the field.

Apart from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, important Indian players like Amanjot Kaur, Pooja Vastrakar, and Yastika Bhatia are in it. However, the team will have Natalie Sciver Brunt, Haley Mathews, and Amelia Kerr as foreign stars. It makes them a strong side in the WPL, and beating them on the field will be very tough.

Mumbai India women’s team will start their campaign against Gujarat Giants on March 4 at DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai.
