The IPL 2023 will kick off on 31st March where the defending champion Gujarat Titans will face the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. On 2nd March, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Mumbai Indians and meanwhile, the former RCB captain Virat Kohli has picked the fastest runner between the wickets between MS Dhoni and Ab De Villiers.
AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli have shared a prominent time with each other while playing for RCB in the IPL. They have a great bond and friendship and fans have seen them both on and off the field and have recently been seen together on screen.
De Villiers has invited Kohli for a live YouTube session on “The 360 Show” ahead of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. The two cricketers engaged in a fun chat during the session where they revealed some interesting details about their cricket careers.
During this conversation, Kohli and De Villiers took part in a ‘quick singles’ round where they were asked to name the fastest runner between wickets that they have played with. Kohli chose MS Dhoni, attributing his swift speed to his impressive wicket-keeping skills. Meanwhile, De Villiers selected his fellow South African cricketer Faf Du Plessis. As per the rule of the game, they were forbidden to take each other’s name.
“Of course, it’s not even a question, I have been asked this question before, AB (De Villiers) has by far been the fastest I have run with between wickets, the only other guy I had so much coordination and understanding with was MS (Dhoni). Now I don’t know about the speeds between the wickets, but with him and MS I would not even have to call,” Kohli said.
