Michael Clark Criticises Indian Team Management Over Rahul’s Omission From Third Test Match

The Australian team is on tour to India to play four test match series against the Indian team. The host has already won the first two matches of the series and leading the series by 2-0. The third test match of the series is being played in Indore. The Indian team went into the third match with two changes, Gill came in place of Rahul, and Umesh Yadav came in place of Shami.

Before the match started, the controversy over KL Rahul’s place in the team was the main point of discussion between the cricket pundits and fans. However, after the second test match, Indian selectors snatched the vice-captaincy role from KL Rahul, and now he was dropped from the third test match.

Speaking on this, Australian skipper Michael Clarke stated that if I were the Indian skipper at this time, he would very surely support him in the team because they are already winning the series. So, Rohit should back him in the third match.

“I like KL Rahul. He is a great young man and an extremely gifted player. India is currently winning, so I would be fighting for him if I were the captain. I would say we are winning, I know he is not at his best, but we can afford to keep him in the team right now. If the team is winning, he can keep players that aren’t performing for a little longer. So I will be fighting for KL Rahul,” said Clarke on sports media house.

Clarke further explained that Rahul is a superb player, and if India wants the good from him, they should keep faith in him and back him in the poor times. Sometimes, luck doesn’t go in your way; he performs one performance and will be back.

“That is what form is about. Over a long period, your best players find a way through it. If India feels Rahul will be one of their best players, you have to keep the faith. Of course, it is mental, and you need some luck. That ball you nick goes to the keeper, just a bit wider, and it goes for four. Or that one he hit into the bat-pad and got caught could go for a one or two. Just some luck along the way. I think Rahul is a super player,” former Australian skipper Clarke further explained KL Rahul’s place in the Indian team.
