Major League Cricket Season 2 Welcomes This Former Australian Captain As Head Coach For Washington Freedom

One of the greatest leaders of the game, Ricky Ponting, has been appointed as the head coach of the Washington Freedom for the upcoming season of the Major Cricket League.

The franchise took to their official X account to announce Ponting as their latest addition to the setup. The greatest Australian skipper will take on the duties of Sydney Sixers coach Greg Sheppard.

Under Ricky Ponting’s mentorship, the French finished third in the opening season of the Major Cricket League.
On the other hand, after being appointed as the head coach of the franchise, Ponting said that he is extremely excited to join the Washington Freedom for the upcoming season of Major Cricket League 2024. Ponting said that it is a bit surreal to replace his former teammate Greg Sheppard as the head coach.

The New South Wales Head of Male T20 Cricket and General Manager of Cricket at Franchise, Michael Klinger, feels that Ponting’s arrival would have a huge impact on major cricket leagues as well as cricket in the United States.

Klinger said that Ponting was one of the most prominent faces of cricket in his playing days, and now he has gone on to become one of the most respected coaches around the globe.

Klinger further stated that Ponting will work now with some of their newly acquired coaches and players who are part of the Washington Freedom’s set-up. Klinger said that ponting has the caliber to bring the best out of players. The franchise will try to attain new heights under the coachship of Ricky Ponting Klinger.
